Within the framework of the Mining and Geological Survey of Hungary’s (MBFSZ) KEHOP-1.1.0-15-2016-00007 project, entitled “Further development of the National Adaptation Geo-information System (NAGiS)”, on 19th September 2019 the ”Climate Leadership Academy” was held in Budapest. The aim of the event was to give the leaders of the settlements a comprehensive picture of the current domestic climate change situation, get information about the climate challenges most likely to affect the municipalities and possible responses to them, and get acquainted with the methodology for elaborating climate strategies for settlement level, and the role of NAGiS in the implementation of the climate protection planning in the settlements, legislation and adaptation tasks. During the event the LIFE-MICACC project - which helps municipalities adapting to climate change - was presented by the Ministry of Interior’s Project Manager, Zsuzsanna Hercig. The presentations were followed by a short discussion panel when the audience also had the opportunity to ask the presenters. More information about the NAGiS: https://nater.mbfsz.gov.hu/en |
