"Municipalities as integrators and coordinators
in adaptation to climate change"

Our municipalities are looking for catchment-level partners

Water respects no administrative boundaries. Cross-border local cooperation is needed to solve many water-related problems, therefore our five municipalities started to contact the leaders of neighbouring municipalities. Our goal is the development of catchment level partnerships, which will help the regions to become more resistant and climate-resilient environments.

The first catchment-level meeting took place in Bátya on 10th of April 2019, where the municipalities of Kalocsa, Miske, Foktő and Dusnok accepted our invitation. The meeting was attended by colleagues of the Ministry of Interior, WWF Hungary Foundation, and the General Directorate of Water Management, whom held presentations to the guests, explained why they cooperate in the project, and also highlighted the opportunities of the catchment-level partnerships. In April, further catchment-level meetings will be organized by Püspökszilágy, Ruzsa, Rákócziújfalu, and Tiszatarján.
