"Municipalities as integrators and coordinators
in adaptation to climate change"

LIFE-MICACC application (1st article)

Last year within the framework of the LIFE-MICACC project natural water retention measures were implemented in 5 Hungarian municipalities to help them mitigate the negative effect of the weather extremes caused by climate change.

In addition to the implemented measures, the project partnership encourages the municipalities and experts with several tools to help the spreading of the use of natural water retention measures. One of these tools is the mobile application created by PANNON Pro Innovations Ltd., designed for municipal workers, but also can be useful for water management and environmental experts, businesses, and the general public.

The main purpose of the application is to collect and share information about water management with those interested. Be it good practice, technology, legislation, a useful event, or a conference. In addition, it provides an opportunity for users to mark or submit a water management problem or solution they experience in their environment. We wanted to develop a knowledge-sharing application within the framework of the project, which supports the work of the municipality and creates an opportunity to build relationships and learn good examples. At the same time, drawing on ideas and each other’s experiences encourages decision-makers to implement similar solutions in their own settlements.

During the following months, we will describe the various functions of the application in detail.
