"Municipalities as integrators and coordinators
in adaptation to climate change"
The Adaptation Guide is the latest publication of the project. The guide describes the role of municipalities and their options for action in adapting to climate change, discusses possible ways of conserving water, details and provides practical examples of the benefits of natural water retention measures, effective methods, and tools for stakeholder involvement, and makes recommendations for communication and information. The aim of the publication is to provide a comprehensive picture of what a municipality (mayor) needs and should consider when thinking about similar developments and municipal water conservation. The steps required for this (from design through permitting to construction) are also presented in detail. The guide serves as a kind of toolkit and aid for municipalities. By reading this publication, municipalities can be more courageous in implementing solutions based on similar nature, taking into account local circumstances and specificities. The long-term goal of the project partnership – which we would like to support with this publication – is to implement as many similar developments as possible in Hungary.
The Hungarian version of the publication is available in the Document Library of the website. Later on, it will be translated to further languages.
